Some Frill Stencil Pigeons

 Hello There Everyone!

Today I'm showing you some of my Frill Stencil Pigeons.  I've obtained most of these birds from Dwayne in Bishop Lavis.  The ones I've obtained from Kuben (Sky Lofts, in Kuilsriver) will be shown in future posts.  Most of these birds were still very young when I got them, so they've changed quite a bit over the past two to three years (so Dwayne probably won't recognize them, although Kuben would, because he paid me a visit not too long ago).  Some birds I've developed through my own process of matching and breeding.  So, in the near future you'll be able to see quite a bit of variation.

As my blog suggests, I firmly believe Pigeons Must Fly, therefore the aim is to enhance the ability of my stencil birds to fly better and circle longer.  Yes, unlike many Stencil and Fancy Pigeon keepers, I truly believe that all my pigeons must get as much opportunity to come out in the open and fly around. And to be honest all my birds do come out frequently.  In addition to the Stencil Homers, I have a few very colourful Racing Homers and some Fancy Birds: (French) Cauchois , Dutch Highflyers and Danish Suabians.

So, having said that - perhaps I should also show you guys some of my birds circling around.  I'll show you some video clips of my birds enjoying the outdoors in the next post!

Oh, yes while you are here, let me inform you that I'll be going back to some of my previous posts from time to time to add more info or pics - because the aim is to inform and to educate others in terms of this fairly new phenomenon.  So, you are most welcome to revisit those posts again in future.

Let's have a look at some Frill Stencils:

Thank you!
